Three Free Things to Do In D.C. This Fall

Washington can be a little pricey if you don’t know where to find the best values. By investing zero dollars into some of your leisure time, you can balance your budget and take in some upscale dining and events. Consider these D.C. freebees.

  • Fantastic Foliage: The National Mall is widely touted for its amazing architecture, memorials, and monuments. But outdoors lovers have long discovered that it is unquestionably one of the best places to embrace the change in season. There are also a number of other wonderful outdoor spaces worth enjoying such as Rock Creek Park, Lincoln Park, and Hillwood Mansion Museum and Gardens among others.
  • Music:The National Gallery of Art hosts its 77th Concert Series and Sunday shows are held in the West Garden. The concert calendar is diverse, eclectic and seating is on a first come, first served basis. Concertgoers are advised to arrive 30 minutes early.
  • 17th Street High Heel Race: Living at the Dupont Circle apartmentshas a great many perks. This annual event turns the neighborhood into a pre-Halloween extravaganza as people run, hobble and sometimes just walk the quarter-mile race in full drag on Oct. 30.

Three Not-So-Free Things To Do In D.C. This Fall

The above suggestions prove that some excellent things in life are free. But some things that are well worth your time cost a few bucks. That being said, Washington, D.C, enjoys a vibrant music scene. These are some shows worth paying for.

  • Lauren Daigle:The inspiration singer has been blowing up the airwaves and internet with her big three hits “Look Up Child,” “Everything,” and “You Say.” She’ll be making one stop in D.C. at the Anthem on Oct. 19.
  • Wu-Tang Clan:The iconic group is a hip-hop institution and the old school collective that includes Method Man, and Raekwon will be making a stop in town at the Anthem on Nov. 1.
  • Trans-Siberian Orchestra:The Capital One Arena hosts the holiday traditional orchestra for a powerful performance on Dec. 23. TSO has emerged as a winter favorite, so planning ahead might be in order.

Living in D.C. offers tremendous opportunities for things other areas would need to travel a great distance to experience. These are just some of the benefits of living in the Dupont Circle apartments.
